"What's your email -- lizzie@biggiantloser.com?"

So yeah, as mentioned in my comment, last year Five Iron Frenzy broke up.

The reason I said it was kind of their time to go is because of their fans. Five Iron was being idolized and that is entirely not what they wanted. On their third to last CD, the last track was a song called Eulogy. As the name may suggest, it was misinterpreted. A lot of people (including myself) thought maybe this would be their last CD, and they had decided to not announce it publicly, and let people decipher the lyrics themselves.

When the forums on their web site went crazy with a gazillion posts entitled "IS FIVE IRON BERAKING UP?!?!?!11", they decided to put all doubt aside and announce that no, they were not breaking up. The song was merely about the band meaning nothing in the big scheme of things. It was a reality check to Five Iron's fans, to tell them to take a look at the bigger picture -- all that matters is Jesus Christ. Only their explanation was a lot longer and made more sense.

To which, there were a gazillion posts written entitled "WOOHOO!! FIVE IRON ISN'T BRAKING UP!!!!!1"

A lot of the fans completely missed the point, even when it was elegantly explained by the band themselves, and that upset me.

Renee, Kitti, myself and some other people had attended a 5Fe show the summer before and admittedly, we had been the only ones crazy enough to bring our sleeping bags to the field and sleep there until the band showed up, but hey, we wanted to be in the front. Eventually, Five Iron had the largest, most crazy show in the entire week of concerts at this festival. And when I say "crazy", I mean craaazy (except for Beanbag, where someone broke their leg). There was a metal fence to keep people from getting too close to the stage and I was protecting Renee from everyone pushing forward. By the end of the concert, my hands were bleeding from holding on to that gate. We had a fun time, but you'd think at a Christian concert (as exciting as they normally are; stop laughing, they are really cool), people would have more common sense and self control.

So anyway, I do miss Five Iron, but the band lives on inside of other bands which are conveniently listed at the bottom of Five Iron's page. And Reese is still up to his antics.

I will never forget the memories of listening to 5Fe on the bus, singing Kitty Doggy every time I got hyper, translating Dandelions for French class (and subsequently being asked if I was gay -- no, it's a song about a kid who loves his mom, and then wanting to give everything to God, get over it), and many other happy memories.
